The typical F2F post is either an interpretation of what a fictional character would wear or an outfit that “channels” the book sartorially. And for that reason, we haven’t had many chances to feature shops that directly source their inspiration from literature. A total blind spot, right? That’s why we’re starting Fiction to Fashion Faves, where we can spotlight the cool kids who are making amazing fashion out of awesome fiction.
Out of Print has always existed on the peripherals of my life. I’ve seen their merch on others, I’ve inquired about said merchandise’s orgins, but I’ve always stopped short of the register. Then when I happened upon their booth sale at BEA this year, my impulse robbed me of my money and gained me my favorite shirt.
It is downright divine to have found a shirt that not only puts your literary allegiances on blast, but is well-made, flattering, comfortable as a hammock made of bunnies. Plus it supports a noble cause. (For each product sold, one book is donated to a community in need through our partner Books For Africa.)
That’s why I had to devote a little Internet space to show off how crazy good these shirts look in real life. If you were thinking about getting one, just do it. You don’t want to live in a world where you don’t have an Out of Print shirt on your body.

Two of these books have already been featured as Fiction to Fashion outfits. Check out The Little Prince here and The Handmaid’s Tale here.

For the record, I was not paid or in any way compensated for this post. As with all posts on F2F, there is affiliate linking on the products, but beyond that, I’m just really into this company.
J here! This being my first text post, I want to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone following this humble little blog. Fiction to Fashion started off in 2012 as a way to fangirl over my favorite books and justify my penchant for online shopping. Since then, there’s been so much enthusiasm for this blog, I couldn’t quit it if I tried.
So we’re going to evolve and expand instead! Now and again, Fiction to Fashion will incorporate super-cute and super-literary fashions we’re seeing IRL. From designer spotlights to great street clothes we’ve spotted, we can’t wait to show you Fiction to Fashion 2.0!
To kick us off, I’ve rounded up the best totes I snagged at BEA/BookCon this year. Now working in book publishing means I am typically awash in totes. And working at Quirk Books means my taste in totes is particularly discerning. But these totes were utterly irresistible on the show floor. I had to snag a bag, if only to show you guys:
Epic Reads tote from HarperCollins. (Also featured at top.)
First In Line tote from Random House.
Everything, Everything tote from Random House Children’s.
Kafka’s Metamorphosis Tote from Out of Print Clothing. (Get your own here!)
With bonus Kafka cover on the other side, The Castle!
Gotta stay true to my classic Quirk Books tote!
